Look Who Is 100 Days Smarter!!

On Friday, our class celebrated being 100 days smarter!! It's hard to believe that we have been in Kindergarten for 100 days. Now THAT is something to celebrate!! We dedicated our entire day to the number 100. Take a look at some of our activities..

We started our day by having 100 dollar breakfast :)

Next, we made some fabulous necklaces using 100 fruitloops.

Later, we "attempted" to write the number 100 with our bodies :)

How long is 100 paper clips??

How many people can we fit in 100 paper clips?

Next, the students wrote their names on sticky notes and headed to the hallway. The students were asked to estimate how far I could make it in 100 steps, then place thier sticky notes in the floor to mark their estimates.

And the winners were....

When I'm 100 years old....

After lunch, our class made chocolate chip cookies.. What better way to celebrate than to add 100 chocolate chips?!?

We survived the 2012- 100th day of school!!

Who says we can't have fun at school??

Soo.. we normally use shaving cream to spell and sound out words. The kids would have never guessed that it helps clean off the tables too...and they thought they had talked me into it!!

Jack ASKED to play with shaving cream. A true Christmas miracle!! How could I say no to a face like this??

and.... we kind of made some little messes!

ok.. maybe some big messes too! oops!!

Polar Express

After watching the Polar Express that morning, the students all received train tickets. The students were told that if they believed in the magic of Christmas, they may be able to hear a magical train whistle. If they happened to hear this train whistle, they must take their ticket and board the Polar Express. Just as the students were beginning to worry that their parents might not let them go, we heard the train whistle.. Right outside of our classroom! :)
Waiting "patiently" to board the trian.

The train conductor punching out tickets.

Our very own Polar Express!

PJ's for Polar Express!

Our silly, silly, babies!

Our Christmas Performance

Students practiced for months learning Christmas songs and dances in order to prepare for our big performance. What can I say? I have a class full of superstars :)

Christmas Around the World

Throughout the month of the December, our class completed a social studies unit over Christmas around the world. Each day we studied the Christmas customs and traditions of one country. At the end of our unit, we asked for parent volunteers to sit up stations, or "countries". The students each got a suitcase and passport, and took a trip around the world!! Needless to say, the students had a blast!! Thanks so much for everyone who was able to make our day so special!! <3
Mr. RJ checks passports and welcomes the students to Japan.

Even Ms. Nikkia's mommy came to celebrate Christmas around the world! The students made reindeer food, because the U.S. is the only country who believes that santas sleigh is pulled by reindeer! Who would've thought?

Ms. Jennifer making pickle ornaments to celebrate traditions in Germany.

Mrs. Wilson, plays a game with the students as she welcomes them to Isreal.

MS. Lori and her Mexico station. Here the students made poinsettas to celebrate the spanish traditions.

Mrs. Chastity welcomes the students to Japan as they celebrate by eating a Japanese Christmas fruit cake.
