Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

At the end of our "Christmas Around the World" celebrations, we had a very special visitor!

And my favorite of all... ;)

Christmas Around the World

Last week, for our social studies unit, we studied maps and learned about different Christmas traditions around the world. To wrap up our unit, we spent the morning traveling around the world. The students were fully equipped with suitcases, passports, and big imaginations! A huge thank you to all the people who made this such a special day for our babies!

Mrs. Ashley welcomes students to Japan with the traditional Japanese Christmas cake!

Ms. Leanna was stationed in Mexico, where the students created the "Flower of Christmas".

Mrs. Kim was stationed in Germany, home of the pickle ornament!

Mrs. Mills welcomed studens to Greece, the country who first created the tradition of hanging the stocking!

Ms. Tracy helped students prepare for Christmas night here in the United States by making reindeer food!

Polar Express

This week we read the polar express and worked on sequencing events. Mrs. Mills discovered that someone had left some train tickets in our mailbox. Just as we were reading the departing address, Highland Elementary, we heard a train whistle outside of our classroom! We were beyond excited as the conductor welcomed us aboard!!! Take a look!

Jackson's Orchard!

We had the "best day ever"! Thanks so much to all of the parents who were able to go and help out!

I think it's safe to say, we were a little exhausted on the bus ride home.  I promise we didnt leave them like this.. but we couldnt resist taking pictures before hand ;)
